In the un-incorporated area of Alachua County, 39 structures out of the 967 surveyed, were found potentially individually eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. Evaluation of properties for possible inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places is done by looking into certain criteria identified by the United States Department of the Interior. These criteria are mostly associated with quality of significance in American history, architecture, archaeology, culture present in districts, sites, buildings, structures, objects that possess integrity of locations, design, setting, materials, workmanship, feeling, association, etc. etc.
